About this product longer description
The Sonoff RFR2 is a wireless switch that lets you turn lights and electrical devices on and off remotely. Control runs via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and the eWeLink platform: from your smartphone, you can switch instantly, set timers and create schedules for automatic switching.
Besides Wi-Fi, the module also has an RF receiver on 433 MHz. This lets you control the switch with a compatible 433 MHz remote control too, so without an app or Wi-Fi connection. A remote control itself is not included in the pack.
The module works stand-alone and doesn't need a bridge or base station; it connects to the internet on its own. The housing is made of ABS, measures 8.8 by 3.8 cm and is fitted freestanding into the wiring. This model runs on 220 volts without earth and switches a load of up to 2200 watts, which leaves room for applications like lighting, ventilation or pumps. The device is designed for indoor use.

No, the RFR2 works stand-alone and connects to the internet on its own. You do need a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the eWeLink app for full functionality.

No, a remote control is not included. The switch does have an RF receiver on 433 MHz though, so you can control it with a compatible 433 MHz remote control.
Can I dim my lights with this?
No, this is not a dimmer. The RFR2 switches connected devices on and off, with a maximum load of 2200 watts at 220 volts.
How long does this product receive software updates?
Sonoff states it will provide updates for at least 36 months after the launch date. This model was launched in June 2023.
