The OtterBox Defender is a back cover with a multi-layer construction. The inner layer is made of strong polycarbonate and keeps scratches and cracks off the device. Around that is an outer layer of shock-absorbing synthetic rubber, which absorbs the energy of a fall.
The protection is certified to OtterBox Drop+ Protection: the design has been tested in more than 24 tests and over 238 hours. According to the manufacturer, the case protects against falls of up to 2 metres.
Lockable plugs cover the connectors, so dust and dirt can't get in. The design is screenless: the screen stays free, so you can combine the case with a glass screen protector. Wireless charging still works with the case on.
This case comes with a holster. You can use it to attach the phone to your belt, or use it as a stand. This version fits the Samsung Galaxy A55.
