Screen protection without hiding the back - this Smart Cover folds over your iPad's screen and leaves the aluminium back exposed. When you open and close it, your iPad's sleep mode switches automatically.
About this product longer description
The Smart Cover is made of polyurethane and protects your iPad's display, while the aluminium back stays uncovered. A long aluminium hinge keeps the cover in place, and light magnets are built into the cover to give the whole thing extra stability.
On the inside there's a soft microfibre lining. It keeps the screen clean and protects it against scratches. The colour is impregnated deep into the material, and the cover has a fit that sits over the display like a second skin.
You can fold the cover into a stand in two ways. In the upright position you can prop up your iPad for FaceTime or to watch a film; the flat position is intended for typing on your iPad. When you close the cover, your iPad goes into sleep mode, which saves battery power.
If you also want to cover the back of your iPad, Apple says a Silicone Case is the right choice for that.
