The No. 115 peeler is made for anyone who wants to work quickly in the kitchen. The stainless steel blade is smooth, without serrations, and peels in ribbons. The blade has a built-in remover for potato eyes and blemishes, so you don't need to reach for a second knife for that.
The knife is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed use: you don't need to hold it differently or turn it around. According to Opinel, the peeler is also suitable for a child's hand, so it's usable when someone younger helps out with cooking. The handle is made of durable beechwood and the knife is not dishwasher-safe, so clean it by hand.
The peeler belongs to the Opinel Les Essentiels series, along with the No. 112 paring knife, the No. 113 vegetable knife, the No. 114 turning knife and the No. 117 butter knife. Opinel has been making knives and tools in Savoie, in the French Alps, since 1890.
