About this product longer description
These filter bags are made from Aromapor paper. That paper has microscopically small pores, so more of the aromatic oils from the ground coffee pass through instead of staying behind in the filter. Most of the flavour is found in those oils: coffee contains more than 800 aromas.
In addition, Melitta uses 3 Aroma Zones, spread across the bag. Together they ensure a full aroma and let the flavour develop optimally as the coffee brews. The paper is also very tear-resistant, so the bag stays intact once it's wet and filled with coffee grounds.
The filter paper is FSC-certified and 100% biodegradable, and production takes place in Germany. Since autumn 2015, all Melitta filters have carried the Eco&Care-label, through which the brand brings together ecological, social and economic factors around coffee production.
Melitta has been making coffee filters since 1908, when Melitta Bentz invented the first coffee filter using a blotting sheet from her son's school notebook. After that came, among other things, the double seam, Aromapor paper and the Aroma Zones.
