The scanner works with all cars that have an OBD2 port. These are gasoline cars from model year 2001 onwards and diesel cars from 2004 onwards. The OBD2 port is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side.
Which app should I download?
There are several free OBD2 apps available in the App Store and Google Play Store such as Torque, OBD Fusion or DashCommand. Choose an app that is compatible with ELM327 Bluetooth adapters for the best functionality.
Can I clear fault codes with this?
Yes, in addition to reading fault codes, you can also clear fault codes and turn off the check engine light with the right app. This depends on the chosen app and the specific fault code.
How far can I be from the car with Bluetooth?
The Bluetooth 4.0 connection has a range of approximately 10 meters. For a stable connection, it is recommended to stay within 5 meters of the vehicle during diagnostic sessions.
