Purple Haze is a warm, very dark purple hair colour. On virgin, unbleached hair the dye leaves purple tones behind; for the best result, Manic Panic advises lightening the hair first to medium level 7 blonde or lighter.
The colour is semi-permanent, contains no ammonia and 0% hydrogen peroxide. The substance is a cream and the technique is full coverage: intended for the whole head of hair rather than individual strands.
You apply the dye to towel-dried hair that has first been washed with a pH-neutral shampoo. Keep a good centimetre away from the scalp, comb the product through evenly and leave it to work for 15 to 30 minutes. Keeping the hair warm gives a deeper colour. Then rinse thoroughly.
The colour fades with every wash; washing with cold water keeps the colour longer. The product isn't tested on animals and the packaging is English-language.

How do you apply this hair dye?
First wash the hair with a pH-neutral shampoo and towel-dry it. Pour the desired amount into a bowl and spread the dye with a brush, a good centimetre away from the scalp. Comb it through until it foams slightly and leave it to work for 15 to 30 minutes.
How long does the colour last?
This is a semi-permanent colour, so the colour fades with every wash. Wash your hair with cold water to keep the colour longer.
Can the dye leave stains?
The dye can temporarily stain skin, clothing and other materials, and can cause staining on blonde or porous hair. Apply petroleum jelly along the hairline and on the ears, and test the product on a small strand of hair beforehand.
