La Vie est Belle Rose Extraordinaire is a reinterpretation of Lancôme's La Vie est Belle fragrance, in which the rose takes centre stage. The eau de parfum brings together three forms of the flower: rose water, which is delicate and fresh, absolu de rose damascena, which is lush and sensual, and the ‘Space Rose’ accord.
That last accord is used in perfumery for the first time and was created in collaboration with NASA. It captures the scent of a rose grown in a zero-gravity environment and thereby adds new facets to Lancôme's symbolic flower.
The fragrance falls into the floral ambré woody floral family. The opening consists of bergamot, orange oil and a green stem accord, the heart of damascena rose petal essence, Space Rose Living and rose absolute. The base holds iris concrete, a gourmand accord, moss and ambroxan.
The bottle is a variation on the well-known ‘crystal smile’, depicted with the Lancôme flower. Spray the fragrance at around 20 cm from the skin, on the inside of the wrist, behind the ears and on the neck.
