The Coalgan wicks are haemostatic wicks: they are intended to stop bleeding quickly and promote healing. The wick is made of calcium alginate fibres of plant origin.
It works through contact with blood. As soon as the wick touches the blood, it releases calcium ions into the wound. This stops the bleeding and supports the recovery of the wound.
The wicks can be used for different types of bleeding: nosebleeds, skin bleeding, bleeding in the mouth and bleeding after a tooth extraction. You apply them yourself, at home or at work, so a bleed can be treated straight away.
Each wick comes in its own sachet. This means you can store them separately and take them with you, for example in a bag or in the car. The packaging and the instructions for use are in French.
