Climax carabiner - fall protection safety clasp - 10×5.5 cm

This karabiner has a reinforced stainless steel construction and a gate diameter of 1 cm. The hook measures 10 x 5.5 cm and is rated at a weight class of 25 kN, which corresponds to 2385 kg. The hook is UIAA and CE certified and, according to the manufacturer, approved for use in rough terrain.

A distinctive feature is the symmetrical O-shape. This provides balance and even curves, so the load shifts less easily. The shape also offers more room to attach gear than traditional and D-shaped karabiners.

The locking mechanism works with one hand: you hook on your object or yourself, twist the lock shut and the hook is locked. Climax lists uses including climbing, belaying, anchoring, caving, rigging, camping, TRX and suspension exercises, and aerial, yoga or hoop movements. The hook is also intended for hanging a hammock, tent or rope swing.
