Schuko to C14 power cable for connecting a device with an earthed plug to the C13 output of a UPS or PDU. Both connectors are straight and the cable is rated up to 10 A at 250 V.

About this product longer description

This earthed power cable from Cablexpert adapts from a Schuko CEE 7/3 socket (female) to an IEC C14 plug (male). Many uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and power distribution units (PDU) have C13 outlets. With this cable you connect a device with an ordinary earthed or unearthed mains plug to them.

The cable is type H05VV-F 3G0.75 mm² with three cores. The maximum load is 10 A at 250 V, which comes to a power of up to 2500 watts. If you have a device with a C13 connection that draws more current, a thicker cable with 3x 1.5 mm² cores is the right choice.

C13 and C14 connectors are intended for so-called 'cold' devices: applications where the pins do not get hotter than 70 °C. For 'hot' devices such as grills, hobs or tabletop grill sets, where the pin temperature can rise to 120 °C, C15/C16 connectors are needed.

The housing is plastic, the finish is black and the cable complies with RoHS and carries the CE mark. The product is intended for indoor use.

What do I use this cable for?

The C14 plug goes into the C13 outlet of a UPS or PDU. Into the Schuko socket on the other end you plug the earthed or unearthed plug of your device.

How much power can I connect to it?

The C13/C14 connectors are rated for 250 volts and a current of up to 10 amps. That comes to a maximum of 2500 watts.

Can I connect a grill or hob to it?

No. C13/C14 is intended for 'cold' devices where the pins do not get hotter than 70 °C. For devices where the pin temperature rises to 120 °C, such as grills, hobs or tabletop grill sets, you need C15/C16 connectors.

What if my device draws more than 2500 watts?

Then use a thicker cable with 3x 1.5 mm² cores. The C13 connection is not designed for currents higher than 10 amps.
