Thermal paste for CPU and GPU that transfers the heat from your processor to the cooler. The MX-7 is electrically insulating and stays stable from -50 °C to 250 °C.
About this product longer description
Thermal paste fills the microscopic irregularities between the processor and the heatsink, so the heat is dissipated better. The ARCTIC MX-7 is made for that and is suitable for both CPUs and GPUs.
The paste has a high viscosity of 35,000 to 38,000 poise. That lets it be applied precisely and evenly without running to the edges of the processor. The colour is grey and the density is 2.9 g/cm³.
The MX-7 is electrically insulating with a volume resistivity of 1.7 x 10¹² Ohm-cm, which prevents short circuits on the board if any paste ends up beside the chip. In operation, the paste performs stably within a temperature range of -50 °C to 250 °C.
That makes this thermal paste usable when building a new system, when upgrading your cooler and for periodic maintenance on an existing PC.
Features 5 features
- Electrically insulating - volume resistivity of 1.7 x 10¹² Ohm-cm, so no short circuit if you spill
- High viscosity - 35,000 to 38,000 poise, so the paste does not run while being applied
- Wide temperature range - stays stable from -50 °C to 250 °C in operation
- CPU and GPU - for use on both processors and graphics cards
- New builds and maintenance - intended for new systems, upgrades and periodically replacing old paste

Frequently asked questions 4 questions
Can I also use this thermal paste on a graphics card?
Yes, the MX-7 is suitable for both CPUs and GPUs. In both cases the paste handles the heat transfer between the chip and the heatsink.
Can the paste cause a short circuit?
The MX-7 is electrically insulating, with a volume resistivity of 1.7 x 10¹² Ohm-cm. If some paste ends up next to the processor, it does not conduct electricity.
Within what temperature range does this thermal paste work?
The paste performs stably from -50 °C to 250 °C. That puts the normal operating temperature of a processor or graphics card within the range.
Does the paste run when I apply it?
No, the viscosity is between 35,000 and 38,000 poise. That thickness lets the paste be applied precisely and evenly without running.
