These Abena surgical face masks are classified as type IIR according to EN 14683. This classification stands for a filtering layer combined with splash resistance: the mask stops splashes of blood and other body fluids.

The mask is fastened behind the ears with elastic ear loops and is made of microfibre, a breathable and lightweight material. There is no exhalation valve. The masks are intended for single use and are thrown away after use; there are 50 in each pack.
