Which water filter fits a Samsung American-style fridge?
The right water filter depends on your fridge model and where the filter is located. Samsung uses a few standard part numbers. First check where the filter is: inside the fridge or in the water line behind it.
Internal filters, inside the fridge, usually top right or at the bottom.
The most common one is the DA29-00020B, also known as HAF-CIN. Older models use the DA29-00003F or DA29-00003G with a three-tab fitting. You click or twist these filters into place without any tools.
External filters, in the water hose behind the fridge.
Side-by-side models with an external filter often use an inline filter such as the WSF-100, or a universal type that clamps onto the hose.
How to be sure you find the right number.
Find your fridge's model number on the rating plate. It's usually on the side of the door or on the inside. Compare that model number with the filter code printed on your current filter. Two fridges that look the same from the outside can need a different filter, so always go by the code, not by how it looks.
Replace the filter about every six months, or sooner if the water tastes less fresh. Many Samsung fridges have an indicator light that turns orange after about 1700 litres and red after about 1900 litres.
