If you're torn between the two Kukident adhesive creams, taste is the main thing to decide on. The Kukident adhesive cream 40 gram is the neutral standard, and the professional variant adds a fresh taste of mint and camomile. Both tubes contain 40 gram and keep a denture or partial denture firmly in place throughout the day.
What do you use adhesive cream for?
Adhesive cream, also known as adhesive paste, holds a removable denture or a partial denture in place on the gums. That gives grip when talking and eating and keeps food residue from getting between the denture and the gums. A well-fitting denture should in principle stay in place on its own; adhesive cream is the extra security for anyone who notices the denture loosening during the day. The two Kukident variants compared
Both tubes are 40 gram. The difference is in the taste and the line.
| Variant | Volume | Flavour | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kukident adhesive paste | 40 gram | Neutral | For anyone who wants a tasteless, familiar standard |
| Kukident professional mint and camomile | 40 gram | Mint and camomile | For anyone who likes a fresh taste in their mouth |
If you'd rather have a fresh taste while the cream does its job, the professional mint and camomile is the logical choice. If you just want grip without any taste, the neutral variant will do.

How to apply adhesive cream
With adhesive cream, less is more. A thin layer holds better than a thick one, because a thick layer tends to shift.
- Clean your denture and dry it well. The cream doesn't stick well to a wet denture.
- Apply short dashes or small dots, not along the entire edge, and keep about half a centimetre away from the edge.
- Press the denture firmly into place and bite down well for a few seconds.
- Wait a few minutes before eating or drinking, so the cream can set.
How much do you need and how often?
For a full upper denture, a few short dashes are enough, and even less for a partial denture. With daily use and a thin layer, a tube of 40 gram lasts several weeks. Apply the cream once a day, usually in the morning. If you use too much, it will come out along the edge and feel slimy in your mouth.
Removing residue
Take the denture out in the evening and remove the leftover cream with warm water and, if needed, a soft brush. You can also rinse away any residue in your mouth with warm water. Preferably leave your denture in water or a cleaning solution overnight, so it stays clean.
Can I also use adhesive cream with a partial denture?
Yes. Apply even less than with a full denture, and only where the denture rests on the gums.
What do I do if my denture keeps loosening?
If your denture keeps loosening even with adhesive cream, or starts to rub, have it checked by your dentist or denturist. Adhesive cream is meant as a help for a well-fitting denture, not as a replacement for a proper fit.
