Short answer: our ANT+ cadence and speed sensor transmits via ANT+ and Bluetooth 4.0, so it works with almost any bike computer or app. If your computer only has ANT+ or only Bluetooth, it's still suitable.
What does a cadence and speed sensor measure?
This sensor from Cycplus is a dual sensor: the same unit measures your speed or your cadence, and you choose which of the two depending on how you mount it. If you want both values on your screen at the same time, you'll need two, one for cadence and one for speed. The sensor wirelessly sends the measurement to your bike computer, watch or phone. Power comes from a 3-volt CR2032 coin cell, good for around 300 hours of use and about 300 days on standby; a battery is included, so you'll rarely need to think about it. The housing is made of ABS and waterproof to IP67. More sensors and accessories can be found in the Bike accessories.
ANT+ or Bluetooth: what suits your bike computer?
ANT+ and Bluetooth are both short-range wireless standards. The difference lies in the number of simultaneous connections: a classic Bluetooth sensor pairs with one device, while ANT+ sends its signal to multiple receivers at the same time. If you ride with a bike computer and an app on your phone at the same time, that's the advantage of ANT+. Because our sensor speaks both standards, you're never tied to one brand.

Works with Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift and Tacx
According to the product data, the sensor is compatible with Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift and Tacx. Whether a connection runs via ANT+ or via Bluetooth depends on your device: not every app or computer supports both. Check your bike computer's manual to see which standard it can handle. If you can choose, go with the connection your device supports most stably.
How do you mount the sensor?
Mounting it requires no magnets and no tools. Because it's a dual sensor, you first choose what you want to measure and mount it in the matching spot:
- If you want to measure your cadence (pedalling rate), clip the sensor onto the crank, the pedal arm on the inside.
- If you want to measure your speed, clip the same sensor onto the hub of the rear wheel.
- Pair it once with your computer or app; after that it connects automatically as soon as you start pedalling.
The sensor weighs 33 grams including packaging, so you won't feel it while riding. If you're also after a holder for your phone on the handlebars, take a look at the Cycplus Z7 phone holder.
Does it work with your computer? (current compatibility)
| Bike computer or app | ANT+ | Bluetooth |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin Edge | yes | yes (newer models) |
| Wahoo Elemnt | yes | yes |
| Zwift on PC (with ANT+ dongle) | yes | yes |
| Zwift on Apple TV | no | yes |
| Tacx training app | often via Bluetooth | yes |

Frequently asked questions
Can I measure speed and cadence at the same time with one sensor?
No, one sensor measures speed or cadence, depending on where you mount it. If you want to see both values at the same time, buy two and mount one on the crank and one on the hub.
How long does the battery last?
The included CR2032 coin cell is good for around 300 hours of use and about 300 days on standby. A spare coin cell is widely available and you can replace it without tools.
